COMMUNITY HEALTH OUTREACH WORKERS (CHOW) SPONSOR FREE HEALTH FAIR AND GOSPEL CONCERT AUGUST 16

 

 

On Saturday, August 16, 2008, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOW) will sponsor an exciting, free Health Fair and Gospel concert at Greater Apostolic Faith Temple, 4735 W. Fort Street in Detroit.  Headlining the memorable evening will be the music of renowned artist Mark Holley & One-A-Chord, Inc.

 

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this unique event titled “Bridging the Gap between Faith and Community”, which will include wonderful gospel music, health screenings, HIV testing, free giveaways and Zumba workshop training.

 

“We are excited to be able to present an evening that addresses two important aspects of people’s lives—faith and good health,” stated Lewis T. Hickson, executive director of the Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOW).  “We are offering this unique life-altering event to develop awareness and mobilize faith members to take action regarding the critical health concerns in the Detroit African American community.  Please join us for useful health information as well as enjoying the sounds of some of the top Gospel artists.”

 

In addition to Mark Holley & One-A-Chord, other Gospel artists that will be performing for the enjoyment of guests are Stephanie Pride and Worshippers United, Eric Deon—the Superman of Gospel, Breath of Praise, Shana Wilson and praise and worship by Lisa Gittens.
